Angel Mai is a new media artist, writer, and researcher.
Her body of work spans gallery installations, software art, live performance, digital illustration, documentary filmmaking, game development, photography, and speculative fiction. Themes of her work include human-computer interfaces, extended reality, transhumanism, post-internet subculture, and retrofuturism.
She holds a BS in Cognitive Science and a BA in Interdisciplinary Computing and the Arts from UC San Diego. Currently, she is working on her MS in Integrated Design and Media at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering.
Currently, she aims to critically examine questions of ownership, authorship, and intellectual property in an age of digital ledgers and artificial intelligence.
